Graduated from Warren Cousino High School in 1978. Awarded Merit Scholarship to Wayne State University.
Worked as a paraprofessional for Macomb Intermediate School District for 18 months in 1983-84. Enjoyed working with emotionally impaired students at the high school level.
Associate Degree in Law Enforcement from Macomb County Community College.
Associate Degree in Criminalistics from Macomb County Community College.
Started my career as a Correctional Officer with the Macomb County Sheriff Department in 1985.
Pursuing Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Oakland University.
Promoted to Deputy Sheriff in 1990.
Worked primarily in the Harrison Township and Macomb Township sub-stations for almost ten years.
Was a Field Training Officer for new Deputies for several years.
Was a candidate for Sheriff in 2000. Was endorsed by the Detroit Free Press.
Was defeated by some guy named Mark Hackel. :)
Was a candidate for Charter Commissioner for District 26 in Macomb Township in 2008. Lost by 8 votes!
Served as Sgt.-at-Arms for the Macomb County Deputies and Dispatchers Association for ten years. I was involved in the resolution of disciplinary matters involving 250 Deputies and Dispatchers for ten years.
I was also on the Executive Board for the MCDDA. I was Involved in grievance procedures, and contract negotiations at the County level.
I have also participated in mediation and arbitration processes in the course of these contract talks.
As a supporter of Families Against Narcotics since 2007, I have personally passed out over 1,200 brochures to young men and women that were struggling with addiction. I encountered these young adults on an almost daily basis, and let them know that there are people who care!
In January of 2016, I retired from the Macomb County Sheriff's Office after 31 years of public service! On February 1st, 2017, I had the honor of placing our first participant for our Hope Not Handcuffs program into detox and in-patient therapy! Our amazing program has now helped over 4,000 participants get the help that they need in their road to recovery!
In November of 2017, I once again became a paraprofessional for the Macomb Intermediate School District, and since December of 2017, I have been a long-term parapro at Neil Reid High School. For the past several weeks, I have been a transportation assistant on a school bus that delivers breakfast and lunch to MISD students, that have been affected by the cancellation of school due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
This spring, I will campaign aggressively with current Macomb Trustee Tim Bussineau to earn a spot on the Macomb Township Board as a Township Trustee! Tim and I will provide this Board with much needed integrity, and a promise that transparency and accountability will always be at the core of everything that we do!!

Supporter of Families Against Narcotics since 2007. Very involved with Hope Not Handcuffs, a program that helps people struggling with drug addiction. I have been a baseball coach in the Macomb Township Little League program for the past 5 years.

Resident of Macomb Township for 29 years. My wife, Michele, and I built our home here in 1991, four months after we were married.
Michele worked as the Health Aide at Cheyenne Elementary for 13 years, and did an excellent job of taking care of your kids. She is now employed as a Correctional Deputy with the Macomb County Sheriff's Office.
Son: Shawn....Shawn and his wife Erin reside in Macomb Township with their son Colton, and daughter Isabella. Shawn graduated from Chippewa Valley High School, and Erin graduated from Eisenhower. They are both CMU graduates! Shawn also has a Masters from EMU. Shawn is employed by the Army Corps of Engineers, and Erin is a photographer for C&G newspapers.
Daughter:Chandler....Channy went to Regina High School, and graduated from the University of Michigan. Chandler now has her Master's degree from U-M, and is completing her third year at the Pankow Center for the Lanse Creuse school district. She teaches Honors and AP biology, and was recently appointed to the State of Michigan Association of Biology Teachers Board of Directors!
